Brightlands Chemelot Campus – Geleen
Brightlands Chemelot Campus is in full swing as an organisation. Together with Chemelot Industrial Park, the campus forms one of the largest research and industrial sites in Europe. As a campus of national importance, Brightlands Chemelot Campus aspires to become the technological hotspot in Europe for high–quality materials and chemistry. This is made possible by bringing together business, applied research and education into one unique, open-innovation ecosystem. The campus thus creates the added value needed to contribute to global issues in the area of sustainability and health.
New and more established companies (from multinationals to startups), as well as knowledge and training institutes, together form an innovative community that attracts Dutch and international students, researchers and entrepreneurs in advanced materials (material sciences) and advanced processes (chemistry, process technology). Over a short period of time, the campus has developed into a place where more than 1900 knowledge workers and 600 students are working, researching or studying at more than 70 companies and knowledge institutes. The strategy is aimed at an accelerated development of the campus to an excellent community of more than 100 companies and at least 2900 knowledge workers and 1000 students in 2023.
The most important tasks of the Brightlands Chemelot Campus organisation are the growth of the number of knowledge workers on the campus, the further development of the campus community and thus the number of valuable collaborations, plus the development and maintenance of the campus R&D infrastructure.
We invite you to take a look behind the scenes of the Brightlands Chemelot Campus by taking you for a tour of the Chemelot Industrial Park and the Chemelot Campus. You will visit places where the latest smart molecules and materials are developed and where you can ask questions to the people who have made this their passion.
