Overview
Course Description
This course will focus on an aerial view of worldwide macro-trends in Water Resource Management and Policy. It will provide attending students with a basic understanding of water management policy, law, and regulation. We will explore the impact of climate change on water cycle patterns worldwide.
Goals
• Orient students about current trends and patterns in water policy and their implications for the environment worldwide.
• Offer students the latest developments in water resource management from an environmental science perspective.
• Investigate together the impact of climate change on water.
Recommended Literature
1) The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report Analysis (2012-2022).
2) Cadillac Desert: The American West and Its Disappearing Water, Revised Edition (1993) by Marc Reisner.
3) Rate of climate change recent data.
Teaching Methods
The course will be relied on Socratic method through mostly lectures and discussions based on questions. Other methods include working visits to a novel water management system.
Assessment Methods
The students will be assessed based on observation, participation, and a written exam.
